Overview

You care for an adult 21 or older who is on one of New Jersey’s two programs for this care: the DDD Supports Program or the Community Care Program.

Lift is the agency. We hire you, train you, run payroll, and handle the state paperwork. You do the caring.

On a care plan these services are called Community Based Supports (CBS) and Individual Supports (IS).

What you would do

  • Help with everyday things at home — meals, bathing, dressing, and getting around.
  • Remind and help with medicine, and keep the home safe.
  • Drive to appointments, errands, and activities in the community.
  • Help work toward the goals in the care plan.
  • Check in and out of every visit on your phone. The state requires it (EVV).

Requirements

  • Be 18 or older and able to work in the United States.
  • The person you care for must be 21 or older and on the Supports Program or the Community Care Program.
  • Pass a background check and a drug test.
  • Have a smartphone. Check-in, notes, and pay all live in a simple phone app.
  • No caregiving experience needed. We train you.

Pay

$28 an hour for most care, and $40 an hour when the state rates the person you care for as higher needs. The state makes that call, not the family.

You are a W-2 employee, so taxes come out of each check and we handle the filings.

Where you would work

Anywhere in New Jersey. The work happens in the home of the person you care for and out in the community.
